This year has been one to remember for Katy Perry as shes been on a rollercoaster ride both personally and professionally. We all witnessed her very painful divorce from English comedian Russel Brand, but KP carried on and that's why we love her! Despite her ups and downs, she may be having the best year ever musically, as she was just named Billboards Woman of the Year!!
It seems like the choice was easy for the magazine, as the editorial director, Bill Werde had nothing but amazing things to say about Katy And attributed her win to her quote never ending supply of record breaking, chart topping hits and her unique and fresh style!
KatyCat will be presented with the award on Friday, November 30th at Billboards annual Women In Music Event in New York City, which is in it's seventh year. Previous Women of the Year honorees have included Taylor Swift, Fergie, and even Beyonce, but we think that Katy stands out above the rest because she has essentially only been making hits for about 5 years or so. But in those few years she became the first female singer to have 5 number one Hot 100 hits off of ONE album, starred and produced her own 3D concert film, gone on a world tour, and sold oh about 48 million songs in just the US, on top of creating her own fragrence, eye lashes, and nail polish. And she still has time to tweet her gratitude for the honor.
