Another sci-fi action flick is making headway as "Lore" might finally be getting a director. Deadline reports that 'Men in Black' director Barry Sonnenfeld is in talks to direct Dwayne Johnson in "Lore", a graphic novel adaptation written by duo T.P. Louise and Ashley Wood. "Lure" takes place in a world once overrun by mythological monsters, who were banished and being kept away by guardians called Shepards. But somewhere down the road the Shepard line is broken and the nasty creatures begin roaming the plant once more. While the protagonist is actually a woman, Johnson will most likely play the mentor figure and guardian to the main character. Warner Brothers has reportedly met with a ton of directors but it seems like the studio is going in a predictable route choosing Sonnenfeld as "Lure" has been described as being similar to the "Men in Black" with mythological. Script is being written by Jeremy Lott and Cory Goodman and Ashley Wood is staying on as executive producer -- so fans of "Lore" can rest assured that the film will probably stay close to the novel. Sonnenfeld is already attached to helm DC's "Metal Men" and we will be seeing a lot of "The Rock" pretty soon as he's starring in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation", "Fast and the Furious 6" and "Pain & Gain". This movie sounds interesting but I personally wonder what the people at Warner Bros are doing. Another non-DC Comics graphic novel in the works? I'd like to see the ball rolling on Justice League characters so they start putting the DC Universe together. What do you think?
